Jay Mattier

Jay is a retired Business Development & Finance Professional

He is the recent founder of J. Mattier & Associates (JMA), a Business and Financing Coaching Firm. His focus is on providing Business and Financial Coaching to individuals, couples and small-to-mid size businesses.

Jay has been in the coaching & consulting business for over 15 years.

He is the former Vice President of Business Development and Technology for The Martin Luther King, Jr. Business Empowerment Center. Where he coordinated and managed the daily activities of a U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) Business Information Center and Entrepreneurial Training Programs.

He has worked with and provided coaching assistance to over 3000 clients as well as clients from Russia, Italy and Africa through the International Center of Worcester. Jay was awarded the SBA District Director’s Award for outstanding service in Boston.

Jay has served on Business Advisory Boards at the Community College Level; He is a former member of the WPI Venture Forum and served on the University of Phoenix Massachusetts’ Business Advisory Committee.

Jay is the former Loan Fund Chairman for the Worcester Community Housing Resource Center and the Worcester Home Ownership Center.Jay was a founding Board Member of the New Markets Entrepreneurial Fund and a coach for the Inner-City Entrepreneurs (ICE).and is a certified NexLevel for Entrepreneurship trainer from Penn State University.

Robert L. Thomas

Robert is President and Chief Operating Officer with New Americans Community Development Corporation a subsidiary of Centro Las Americas (Centro). In this role, Robert manages all aspects of growing the subsidiary from incorporation, 501c3 authorization, and capitalization to successful operations. A big believer in sustainable development, Robert supports community and economic development that meets the needs of the present with emphasis on the ability of future generations to be in a financial position to meet their own needs. Robert is a qualified business owner and holds a Master of Business Administration from Nichols College. Robert successfully founded, organized and operated the Martin Luther King, Jr. Business Empowerment Center, for 20 years.

Robert is no stranger to community and business development, having spent over 40 years as a consultative sales specialist and entrepreneur which taught him the importance of financial viability. Before joining Centro in 2015, Robert worked many years for a diverse range of organizations, including: Agfa-Gevaert Corporation; Compugraphic Corporation; Kodak Corporation and South Middlesex Opportunity Council. In each corporation, Robert was responsible for executive level management and strategic leadership.

After successful careers in private and corporate America, Robert now advises other people how to achieve their business dreams. Robert’s varied backgrounds in graphic communication, real-estate and training provides the perfect foundation for community and business development.
